Master the basics of Inline Skating in Texas

Inline skating is a great way for individuals in Dallas, Houston or anywhere in Texas get and stay in shape. But before trying this sport, you should know some of the basics, as well as safety precautions, like wearing a helmet and pads.

Inline Skating Technique # 1: Balance and posture
First, establish the position and the right balance for in-line skating. The establishment of an athletic stance and balance is very important for the beginner skater. A correct posture is essential to master the procedures to follow.

To establish a regular position of skating:
1. Stand in the ready position.
2. Place hands in front of you.
3. Bend your arms at the elbows a 45 degree angle with the trunk.
4. Bend your knees so that your weight is on the balls of your feet.
5. You should feel the least shins pressed against the tongue of your skates.
6. Lean forward slightly at the waist as if sitting in a chair.

If you can do all that without falling, which has established correct posture to maximize your balance skating. Its center of gravity is now focusing on his skates. You should be able to draw an imaginary line of the shoulders, through his hips and ankle.

Now, go one step further and add a staggered position of the feet. This works to improve stability and allows individuals to absorb bumps and vibrations while it remains in balance at all times.

To establish a staggered position of skating:
1. Repeat steps 1 to 5 of the previous procedure.
2. When you are ready, remove the feet until they are 10-12 inches apart.
3. Place the right skate in front of you while your left shoe is left behind.
4. Set this staggered position until the heel of the shoe front is about even with the end of the line again.

The staggered position that is stable, centered over your skates, and in balance.

Remember to keep muscles relaxed. You will be able to handle different speeds and changing field as well as conserve energy and avoid fatigue, if you learn to relax.

Skate Technical line # 2: High
Heel stop is a critical skill for all inline skaters to learn. You use the brake in the rear of skate brake suitable for this stop. Your body needs weight to be centered or slightly on your back skate when you're starting to learn the heel stop. Keys are the back straight and knees bent.

To request a heel stop:
1. Moving in a staggered position with a break in the front skate.
2. Once you feel stable, bend forward at the hips and knees.
3. Extend your braking skate forward.
4. Lift your toes in front braking skate.
5. Press down with your heel on the brake.

Here's a tip: You may not slowing as enough or not doing enough and the action of the heel toe braking. This is very common with beginners. If this is happening to you, you need to get below the knees during step # 2 when you bend forward at the hips and knees.

You really must feel in the quadriceps as he falls further below. When you can feel it in the quads, you get the strength in your heel brake to reduce speed. Remember to keep your back straight at all times.
