The most important decision of a skateboard lover is the choice of their skateboarding decks. The deck is the most important part of any skateboard. It is the wooden platform on which you stand while riding. The deck along with the other parts of the skateboard should be of superior quality to avoid any accidents while riding. Skateboarding decks should always be chosen as per the rider's size and style of skateboarding. If the rider is a professional he will know the advantages of different shaped decks for advanced skateboarding. However a novice should always start with flat skateboards. The size of the rider should also be kept in mind while buying a skateboard. A short rider would be more comfortable handling a shorter board!

Dirty shoes and mud can wear off the grip tape off your skateboarding decks causing falls that could lead to an injury. Wet weather can wreak your skateboard deck. If you feel your grip tape has become dirty use an old tooth brush and some soapy water to wash out the dirt. Once you have washed your skateboard you dry it with a towel and go skating again. Remember the more care you take of your skateboard deck, the longer it will last!
