Complete Skateboards Are complete skateboards any good?
I'm kind of a beginner at skateboarding, but I want to get a good board and was thinking about buying a zero complete (link at bottom). I was wondering if this was a good brand and if they make good complete skateboards. If they don't, please tell me what I should buy instead. Thank you!
been skateboarding for most of my lifetime and zero skatebaords are one of the best brands of boards to even be made. As a beginner buying a complete is always the best way to go, they may not have the best of everything that's why they're a little cheaper but most pro name completes like the zero completes will be a great choice. Your first and most likly second boards are going to be trashed from learning how to skate and do tricks, why spend more than you need to on something that isn't going to be great after a year. I've had 9 zero decks in my times of skateboarding...I still have all those decks never broke one and most got rode on every single day for months on end sometimes for a year or so. Probably one of the most durable decks out there. Are they best, no, Almost makes some of the best decks on the market because they're a bit lighter than a zero, thats it. I don't really need the lightest of everything but for a newbie it's something to look for. One thing to look for when buying a complete, make sure the bearing is abec5 or more, whats abec mean...nothing it really doesn't mean garbage when talking about skatebaord bearings but in my experiance it's good to stay at abec 5 or higher, also look at wheel size, I wouldn't go anything under 52mm, you'll be learning in the streets or somewhere close to that you'll want it to be able to roll good and not get caught up in cracks or rocks. I personally like 53mm or 54mm for this reason, they're fail safe and I pretty much only skate street. Learn the parts of your skateboard learn how they work, look up how a skatebaord goes together and once you begine to get good at skating you'll be able to find a board that better suits you.
