Mysticism of truck drivers

What happened to the old bull Whacker? With the evolution of car and truck, the "cargo" (Conestoga wagons) of Santa Fe and Oregon Trail days, pulled by oxen and urged on by the bull lawn, eighteen wheels become today. Interstate highways Whacker gradually replaced muddy the bull, bumpy roads. But that spirit has never died farmer, lives on in the heart of today's truck driver and any child pulling the arm up and down persuade a horn blast of air passing a large truck.

What makes you leave some Hum-drum work factory ... or a hamburger that is insidiously working to seal a greasy cloud of despair? It's the same bull Whacker drew to the runway - a Pulse simple call of adventure - the call for new positions, the "Call of the Wild, West! Ah, the West ...

Until we have experienced the sights and smells of the vast prairie, and not the midwest endless fields of corn, soybeans, and further west, sorghum and wheat ... the cotton fields of southern ... have realized that what America is all about! Then there are the Rockies, who first appears as a thin line purple ridge in the distance - how to get huge to the base of each of Front Range. The high prairie of Wyoming, the Great Basin, Salt Lake, Nevada, and then another climb the mountains and down in California. No, you have not lived until have covered every route return - again and again.

Most of us at home, are too busy to worry about thinking about trucks and truckers. They are simply there, interference on our roads, threatens us with its speed and volume. Deliver your goods demand! But do not block our way to the mall, Do not you kiss my car with his truck and break the "Born to shop !..." my bumper sticker.

For a minute, totally removed from your desire For more "stuff". Lean back in Barka-lounger that yours and dream ... just what you would like to close the house, kissing children goodbye (perhaps shuffling them off to the grandparents) and settled in (with its old) driving a large truck. For a year or so, imagine the both of you ... miles flying behind you in California flat mirrors, front-ending Interstate signs and on ...

.. Bored? Never! On each trip, seeing light fall differently on the same landscape, changing every scene he remembered something never seen before; moonlight ... sunlight ... dawn to dusk each time a different mood.

And the easy camaraderie of the CB - voices from nothing (some recognize him, but mostly joking again) hilarious - Good mood America on the move. Much humor, as the army, repeated jokes, cliches, sometimes stealing lines of television programs and commercials, humor, but much of the original - invented - the active mind conjuring up all kinds of truck driver for a response from the CB and make the miles fly faster. Yes, sometimes daunting: the warnings of a "bear" on the prowl, or a "local yokel" taking pictures "(a county police with a hand gun radar), and even more gloomy, the occasional accident (which may be bloody). Is everything ready for you ... too long. Awesome at times.

Truck Stops: oasis that would blush old timer - and not shame they are no longer "Grapes of Wrath" period. Directors truck stop have struck gold with the farmer of today. We, all of us - whether we like it or not - consumers are trained, even the modern bull Whacker is immune.

Into typical truck stop "shop", a series of expensive goods, seems doomed to sit on the shelf. But hang around a while: to see a hand poke asking through a pile of something or other, and seeing that shrink (the heap of goods, not the hand). CBS, cell phones and accessories, maps and books of all kinds tire imaginable clubs, fast food boxes, electric refrigerators, GEW gaws chrome dress to the truck, huge, rubber skirts, all kinds of garments dress.

All right, we're on the topic of clothes ... let something off my chest. You know the kind I have seen leaning against a down-on-truck fleet ears that's taking nine seats of cars and part of a lane in his shop - the kind of nines in an impeccable suit and a fox western flamboyant floppy hat? Right ... that guy. Well, he's on my list, buddy! Only trucks of the school, and he is yet to make his first delivery on time (and if not school road, making it the state farm fun).

Now the jerk is standing on his truck steps admiring himself in the mirror plane, not the least desire to slip behind the wheel and do some real driving. You have to bobble-head more weeks with the team that hired him stupid and he is hoofing it down the road.

Let's go back inside, where they probably find a lavish buffet. The food is likely to be healthy, not the trash greasy the studio feeds Clint Eastwood and co-host of monkey. In fact, most truck stop restaurant that has to make a special point of order above matter unhealthy such as biscuits and gravy. Some Habits Die Hard.

Then there is always the ping, hitting, binging electronic games room, and after that big meal of meat and "Meat and salad and berry pie ala mode, no hot showers and a quiet, sheltered many truck they sleep all off. The truck stop today is little anticipated the modern bull Whacker heaven platform discussions at the end of a long day.

All this and more, hand ... America awaits you!
